I am writing a blog article on the struggle to find and keep quality Chinese local management in MNC firms. Your article is a great resource!
Consider yourself bookmarked!

Hello,
I am a Latin American interested in doing business with China for the first time. I have been in contact with a Chinese company that manufactures LED screens; I found them on Alibaba.com. They have been very helpful and eager to do business with me, have sent price lists and specifications, digital catalogs (they don’t send by mail), answered all my questions and even volunteered to send the structure that supports the screen once it is assembled. They have offered a good price (better than other suppliers I have found) and in general look like a legit business. The person I have been in contact with, the sales manager, claims they produced the giant screens for the World Cup in Germany and are going to build the screens for the Olympic Games.
As I am far away from China I would prefer to be able to check the company out, perform due diligence, without having to actually travel there. What would be your recommendations for performing due diligence? What documents should I ask for, commercial patents, trade registries, commercial and bank references?
Any other advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dirk L.

Hi, I wrote a question last week but it hasn´t been published. What do I need to do to have it published, are there any changes needed or should it be published somewhere else? If it´s not material for this webpage, could you refer me to other sites where I could find an answer to my question? Looking forward to your answer. Thanks,
Dirk Langpap
